The Mission:

Josh Hawley has undermined, is undermining, and will continue to undermine our democratic republic. In the days since January 6, he has gone on (i.e. whined) about being “cancelled”; he has claimed no one is respecting his freedom of speech. Well, Josh Hawley * The Reacher is here to help him out. So we are taking his first (only????) book and putting it out there for the masses (in a somewhat altered form). But hey, staunch supporter of free speech that he is, he can’t possibly mind. (Can he?)

One goal of this project is to create a series of art objects that keeps Hawley’s malpractice of leadership in the public eye. Another–down the road–is to auction off the individual leaves (2 pages per leaf + typewriter-printed versions of the poems) with all proceeds going to organizations that are working to remove Hawley from office or defeat him when his term comes up. These are Democratic and Republican organizations. The house, our house–the capitol–is on fire; I don’t care whose hose puts it out.

I am not doing this to make money. In a way, this is a kind of therapy, a way by which I can channel my rage, because I–for one–don’t believe in violent means. But now that I’m deeper into the project, I see the opportunity to sell the leaves and make a little money for the people and groups that are doing the hard work on our behalf.
